Documentation of cross document copy/paste?

Before I make a documentation feature request for a section of documentation dedicated to cross document copy/paste, does it already exist somewhere that I just missed?

IIUC, cross document copy/paste will soon be usable in 2.2.2

But many behaviors (especially regarding layers) have no behavior that is correct enough to be expected merely from being told how to do a copy/paste. It would help a lot to be told what to expect a copy/paste to actually do.

What, if anything, when pasted to a new document will land on the active layer of that document? I assume (but it should be said explicitly) that whatever does not land on the active layer of that document will land on a layer of the same name the content had in the source document, creating such a layer if necessary.

BTW: If I had been designing this (and maybe this would be a feature request) whatever was on the active layer when copied would go to the active layer when pasted, but everything else would go to its named layer. That would be non-obvious and need documentation; But operationally it would make cross document copy/paste easier to use. Maybe it already will work that way (when changes now in progress are merged), but I doubt it.

As best I can GUESS from commit comments, when a copied instance of a block is pasted, the intended (soon to be available) behavior is that it will connect to a preexisting block of the same name in the target document if there is one; But otherwise it will drag along a copy of the block that it is an instance of. Great behavior (in my opinion) but non obvious enough that the documentation should tell the user what to expect.

In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m still very much a beginner at using LibreCAD (jumping into difficult use before learning easy use). So I expect there are several other tricky aspects of cross document copy/paste whose expected behavior deserves documentation (but involving features of LibreCAD I haven’t tried to use yet).
